Buy small silver bullion bars

Small .999 fine silver bullion bars were part of the product mix when silver bullion bars burst on the scene in early 1970s as investors went to buy silver bullion, mostly silver bullion bars, as hedges against inflation. However, silver bullion investors quickly decided that buying 100-oz silver bullion bars and 10-oz silver bullion bars best fit their needs.

As a result, few small silver bullion bars, except 10-oz silver bullion bars, were manufactured. Still, silver bullion bars of various weights are sold back into the market from time to time. Those sizes include 50-oz, 25-oz, 20-oz, and 5-oz silver bullion bars. Occasionally, kilo silver bullion bars (32.15 oz) show up.

1-oz silver bullion bars, which compete with 1-oz silver bullion rounds, sometimes are available. However, 1-oz silver bullion rounds are more popular with investors who buy silver bullion.

Silver bullion bars availability

While 100-oz silver bars and 10-oz silver bullion bars are nearly always available, odd-weight silver bullion bars usually are available only silver price run-ups, which bring sellers to the market. Rarely are odd-weight silver bullion bars available in large quantities. When you go to buy silver bullion bars, ask if any odd-weight silver bullion bars are available. Doing so could save you a few cents per ounce.

Further, odd-weight silver bullion bars sometimes carry unique hallmarks. For example, kilo silver bullion bars are often hallmarked Credit Suisse, one of the finest names in the silver bullion industry.

Small silver bullion bars prices

Usually, 50-oz and 25-oz silver bullion bars sell at the same prices as 100-oz silver bullion bars. Five-ounce silver bullion bars sell at the prices of 10-oz silver bars.

Silver buyers who want small pieces may want to consider the US Mint's Silver Eagles, which are the world's best-selling government-issued silver bullion coins. Silver Maple Leafs, Canadian silver coins, are the second most popular government-issued silver bullion coins.

The cheapest silver bullion bars

The cheapest silver bars readily available are the Royal Canadian Mint's unique 850-oz silver bullion bars. These silver bullion bars are highly recommended for investors who are buying silver bullion bars in large quantities.
