Tom Woods lecture at Grand Canyon University, Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010

Fellow Arizonians:

Bestselling author Tom Woods, an expert on economics and Constitutional issues, will speak Wednesday, October 20, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Grand Canyon University (3300 West Camelback Road, Antelope Gymnasium [North Building], Phoenix, AZ 85017).  I’m attending and am inviting you to join me.

Tom has authored several bestsellers, including Meltdown, which I reviewed on my blog last year.  His The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History is wildly popular with political activists.  His latest is Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century seems set to be another bestseller.

Although his talk is titled, “The Free Market and the Financial Crisis: Not Guilty as Charged,” I don’t see he can get around talking about nullification.  With fedgov determined to ram Obamacare down our throats, nullification may be a major way to resist.  By now, we’ve all learned that Obamacare isn’t just about health care, but massive government intrusion into our lives and the economy, a move which seems certain to cripple the economy and to turn our health care system into a European-style socialistic system.

Considering that Bernanke and the Fed are set for Quantitative Easing II, I’m certain Woods will spend a great deal of time explaining why expanding the money supply will only make things worse.  (It’s an urban myth that Roosevelt’s New Deal got us out of the Great Depression.  Important — but suppressed — studies show that Roosevelt’s policies prolonged the Great Depression.  For a scholarly but easy to understand look at that debacle, read Murray Rothbard’s America’s Great Depression.)

Please join me for what will certainly be an informative talk on for the times we face.  And, if you plan to attend, please call me at 602-234-2300 so that we can make arrangements to meet before and/or after the lecture.
