Silver rounds for sale
Silver rounds are a popular silver investment because one-ounce silver rounds are .999 fine silver, making them a pure silver investment. And, being one ounce, silver rounds could easily be used as money in a worst-case scenario. (See our page on Survival Coins.)
Buffalo silver rounds
Buffalo silver rounds, currently being sold as generic silver
rounds, are gaining popularity and soon could be as accepted as the
standard silver rounds discussed on this page. Buffalo
silver rounds are pictured above. Note that the reverse is the
famed Indian Head design that graces the old Buffalo Nickel.
Engelhard Silver Prospectors, pictured to the right, have not been
made since 1988, and they are available only when they show up in the secondary market.
When available, Engelhard Silver Prospectors usually carry premiums
above other silver rounds.
Other popular 1-oz silver rounds
Sunshine Minting produces popular silver rounds. The Sunshine Minting silver rounds depict an eagle flying through the sun and are called Silver Eagles.
Sunshine Silver Eagles are not to be confused with
Silver Eagles, which are legal tender $1silver
investment coins minted by the U.S. Mint.
Other government silver pieces sometimes called silver rounds are
Silver Maple Leafs, which are
Canadian silver coins. Silver Eagles and Silver Maple Leafs
are usually comparably priced, but at times the Silver Maple Leafs carry
slightly smaller premiums.
See photos of Sunshine silver rounds to the right.
Generic 1-oz silver rounds for sale
Included in the category of generic silver rounds are all the silver rounds produced over the last thirty years by firms that are no longer in business. Also included are 1-oz silver rounds marketed by small firms that are still in business but are not well known.
Generic silver rounds usually do not display the manufacturing mint's hallmark or name, and they come in a myriad of designs. Sometimes generic rounds are loose in a bag, like pre-1965 U.S. 90% silver coins. Sometimes generic silver rounds are packaged in tubes.
Generic silver rounds sell at smaller markups than Engelhard Silver Prospectors or Sunshine Minting silver rounds.
Because generic silver rounds sell at smaller premiums than
Prospector and Sunshine silver rounds, they are popular for
silver investment.
If you would like to know which silver rounds CMIGS has available for immediate shipment, call. The minimum order for silver rounds is
five hundred ounces. However, the minimum order for
pre-1965 "junk"
silver coins is a $500 face value bag, which contains approximately
357.5 ounces of silver.
